New Battery, Starter works, Power to switch, by passed safety switch, Continuity in wire from key switch to starter but not transmitting power from switch to start. Have new switch continuity good in switch. PTO off, in Neutral. Is the a another safety switch? The wire diagram doesn't show one.

To help you further need to know what version you have, as the wiring is different between versions.

Check your ground strap from battery to frame as well as positive battery cable from battery to starter. It may show continuity on a meter, but unless the connection is perfect, the starter cannot draw the 100+ amps of current it needs to turn the engine over.

Yeah bypassed clutch safety switch will check battery connections neg and pos and clean them up. Going to buy new neg wire tomorrow it pretty much max out on the battery for tightness.

Well I tighten the neg wire on the battery to make sure a good connection. Then I connected the terminals on the starting and it turns over great. Starter engages and engine turns over. But still no power from ignition switch to starter. Has good continuity from switch to starter just doesn't send the power to the start when I turn the key.

Well it sounds like switch itself is bad. I just had to replace the ignition switch in my B7200, which is probably the same as yours. Same issue as you where it wouldn't start. The spring contact went bad inside. It isn't a terrible job, but I did have to pull the dash off to do it.

Yeah I installed a new one thought that was it from the beginning. So order a new one and installed it and still nothing. I even double check to make sure I wire it properly. Maybe I received a bad switch. Going to pull the switch and see if I can bench test it.

Do you know if there is a separate ground for the switch itself?

Maybe I missed it and it not being grounded.

Ok, well then there are two other possibilities. Please see attached wiring diagram. This is from my B7200 service manual, but I suspect it's the same with your B8200 since the electrical systems are nearly identical. There is a fuesible link in the line from the starter position of the switch to the starter solenoid. This could either be missing or has opened. I found the spare one I have and snapped a pic of it to show you what it looks like.

The only other thing is to check to see that the stater solenoid wire was wired to the "30" screw terminal on the back of the switch. The switch itself is not grounded, it only switches the + side of bat voltage, not ground.

Hope that helps you out....

Thank you so much-- I shut my tractor off to talk to a neighbor, went to start it and "crickets"... Took the solenoid out and tried to actuate it and again, nothing. Your diagram and information has been incredbly helpful. Thank you so much. B8200D 4x4

I wanted to followup and let everybody know what the solution was... apparently there is a dead-man switch on the clutch. It was stuck when I bought it and for the first 5-6 months of using it. Well, on this particular day it started working. We depressed the clutch fully, it engaged and allowed the proper signals to the starter solenoid to energize and it works perfectly now.
