I recently purchased a B8200 hst with no attachments, i found a mid mount mower for it, although the deck i found was rc60-25 the tractor requires deck number rc 82h, anyway after doing some comparing the decks are very very close to eachother, i decided that with a little movement of the mounting brackets it would fit. I took it to a welder and it works perfect now that he has moved the brackets,it lifts it mows but the pto is turning the wrong direction. What do you guys think could be the problem? Is there a way of getting the pto to turn clockwise or did i waste money on this deck?

That would be why the 2 decks are different.
Sadly yes you might have just wasted some $$.
There is no logical way to change direction of the mid PTO, but you might be able to change the gearbox and make it work, let me get home and do some research and I'll get back to you.

Wow--This brings up something I have never considered. Different model Kubota tractors have mid PTOs that spin in opposite directions. I have learned about the B6000 with the opposite rear PTO but have never heard of this difference. I assumed the mid PTO's have a standard rotation direction.

I have a B8200 which is gear driven. The belly mower is powered off of a pulley coming from the front. A shaft from the mower connects to the back side of the pulley, which is all in a metal box configuration.

Maybe the mower is designed for a set up like this and that may make a difference in rotation.

It is looking like this is fast becoming a waste of money, i'v talked to several people who had never heard of a mid pto running backwards, any help you guys can give will be appreciated

You keep saying it is backward PTO..... but have not ever said which way it actually turns. So is the PTO going clockwise or counter clockwise?

If the PTO rotation is correct for that model tractor; rather it be CCW or CW (would be hard as hell not to be) then the only solution is to fabricate in either:

crossed+belt+drive.jpg
. crossed belt setup

waterpump.jpg
. an outside pulley and tensioner

geartrainmechanism.jpg
or as NIW says a gear box that has an even number of gears which would change output rotation direction from what ever the input rotation direction was.

Ok after some research here is what I think I know!

The RC60-25 was meant for a L2250, L2550, L2650, L2950 but that is neither here nor there as it's just the mounts that change.

The B8200HST was meant to have a RC60-82H

From all I can read all Kubota Mid mount PTO's rotate the same direction, even B's to L's, CCW, from the seat looking down, it's to the right.

Ok Caddy time to break down your issue:
Sitting in the seat which way does the Mid PTO spin?
Is the deck mounted with the gearbox in the front?
Grass discharge of the on the right side?
Looking strait down from the top do the blades does the cutting edge on the left side facing forward and the rear side facing backwards?

My first thought is the blades were on upside down. Or the blades are wrong for the mower. Many Woods mowers turn the opposite direction to cut.

Caddy,

see if you can answer NIW questions.....

also - there is a chat about converting a MMM to a 3 point attachment....

here is the problem - pto SPEEDS - MMM run a 2000 -2500 rpm's
3 points run at typically 540 ........now ifn you come rig up a 5:1 gear box - it could be done ( like a 3 billion mile trek to pluto:)).....and then if needed could be reversed at the same time....

all that sounds $$$$$ - but if you have a modified deck - you have to sell it as is.........rework it back or somehow come up with another solution.;)

Just for a little background on the deck it self, i found it on Craigslist and it was owned by an older guy that purchased it on an l series tractor from a dealer. The tractor was used but the deck was brand new, he used it twice to cut amd took it off and never put it back on, said it cut horrible. I'm wondering if it's. Possible that the belt was put on wrong from the factory way back when. I'm going to a dealer for a schematics of the routing to check if its on the right way

I have an RC60 deck on a G2000, which is the gas version of a G1900. The pto drive comes from the front. It's runs through the front axle, driven by a belt from above, off the engine crank pulley. Simple belt tightened engages. This RC 60 deck has the shaft to the pto stub facing forward. And RC 60-82 pic I saw has it facing backwards. Would this be the rotation problem. My history with Kubota is that a lot of decks, snow lowers etc are all the same, it's only the brackets. For example my 42" snow blower would go right from my G2000 to my F2560 with different brackets. I am not sure of the Pto rpm issue, but it can't be too large.
