I filled my tractor tank yesterday and while cutting grass fuel sloshed out around the cap constantoy. Did I lose a seal? Cap gone bad? Didn’t appear to be cross threaded. Thanks for any help

It’s what happens when filled to the top. (If you were to seal that cap up completely…. you may find that your engine will “stall” when fuel can no longer leave the tank due to poor venting. (I know. I know. In a perfect world the cap would have a specific vent not needful of imperfect O-rings/Seals…. in a “perfect world”. )

Everything in the world is perfect, Right….

Stop filling it to the Tippy-Top. Tractors don’t have suspension-systems to absorb terrain that’s not smooth. Fuel will “slosh” vigorously.

See this parts diagram, there are a couple of parts underneath the cap to seal it and you may have lost them OR they are just leaky.
