My B7510 HST has a little over 100 hours on it and has been properly maintained, however today while mowing with a rear deck finishing mower I ran into a problem. I stopped the tractor and disengaged the PTO so that I could jump off for a second.
After getting back on I pushed in the clutch pedal and moved the PTO engagement lever only to find that it simply moves around freely and feels as if it has disconnected somehow from the internal parts.
The PTO remained off (rear PTO shaft not turning) and nothing I did made it work again. Examination of all parts connected to this lever showed nothing wrong.
After shutting off the tractor I removed the temporay block that allows me to select the higher PTO RPM (for the mid mount PTO shaft). I then started the tractor and moved the lever forward into the higher RPM position and although the lever still felt loose it did engage the higher RPM.
Now the PTO shaft is constantly turning, except while depressing the clutch pedal, in the higher RPM and still can not select the center "OFF" position or the lower RPM position with the lever. It just flops around bother directions as if not connected to anything.
I checked the roll pin that attaches the lever to the sahft coming out of what appears to be the transmission and it is intact and they are connected.
Has anyone ran into the same thing? Or does anyone have an illustration or drawing showing what the shaft connected to this lever goes to?
Thanks, Curt
