My new , older B7500 apparently was in a bad mood today. All was well. Cool breeze, sunny sky, no rain, so I took him for a walk. Then I stopped to say hi to neighbors on our dirt road. Thats when it happened... Nothing. Turned the key,... nothing. Double checked my notes (yeah, fairly new at this) and had everything in neutral / centered with the clutch down, but he just refused to start. Wasn't the battery, as I tried jumping it. Towed it back to the garage and now trying to figure out my next step. But hey, it caused me to find and join this awesome group. So, any thoughts??? Big thanks

Most common no start issues are the HST pedal or PTO not being in neutral, but you said that you checked those so the next place to look would be the main fuse and wiring connections.

Thanks much Mendonsy. I did check those but maybe not as close as I will tomorrow morning. Will follow up.

To be clear, “nothing” as in not turning over electrical seems ok. Hey Wolfman, my daughter lives in Bonners Ferry
Small world, BF's is just up the road from me.

Sorry still not clear.
Is it cranking and just not firing?
Or is it not cranking at all?

You say electrical seems Ok, how do you know?
Dash lights?
Any other indications of power?

If you were in BF I would just pop over and get you running.

Must be in SP.
It is not cranking when the key is turned past block heater. Yes, dash / headlights no problem. If I am seated, I can hear a subtle click when I try to crank it- but is isn't even trying to tuen over

PTO, Clutch pedal and HST Pedal (if HST) can all have safety switches, make sure PTO is off, sometimes engaging and disengaging the PTO will reset the switch.
Push the HST pedal back and forth to center it.
If all else fails get the WSM (aka service manual and it will walk you through troubleshooting it.
Every model is a little different and sadly I don't have that particular WSM and there isn't one available for a cheap or free download.

FIXED: Thank you all for your ideas. The issue appears to be the high / low gear selector lever was not exactly in neutral . It IS possible that jiggling the wires to the starter and fuses was the culprit but pretty sure it was that lever. Learned a lot trying to trace this. Thank you all

Interesting .... my B7500 doesn't care which position the gear selector is in but maybe it would not start if it was between positions?

Mine is not a B7500, but neither my BX or B2910 seems to care what position the range lever is in.

Amazes me that I did not think of that when I read the OP's last post!

It seems unlikely that a safety interlock would require you to be IN GEAR before starting the tractor...
