B7500 wont rev past 2,000 rpm

Ok that makes sense. So now the question is why is the tach off?

I am not really all that surprised that it is off. The B7500 is at least 10 years old (mine is a 2004) and these are a mechanical tach which isn't super accurate to begin with. Mine seems to read about 100 rpm higher than the actual motor speed at WOT.

Mines an 2003 with 330 hours on it. The weirdest part is how it was working one day and then the next it just started going to 2300 rpm. My 03 chevy dually I have had the cluster rebuilt twice in it so I guess the tach on my tractor not reading right isnt that unfeasible.

There are some aftermarket fixes. I think this one is specifically for a gas engine, but they do have some for diesel.
