B7500 w hole in diff housing

I have the wsm for the b7400 and b7500's but it doesn't cover removal of complete diff housing. I need to remove and replace the complete ( rectangular aluminum) housing that is bolted behind the transmission case. In the parts book, it is labeled as C425-differential gear case ,: 6c040-1117-4. A rock took a chunk out of the aluminum, leaving a hole. Most of my fluid spilled out. I bought the new case and whatever I think I might need to replace while in there, seals, bearings. I'm just trying to figure out how to do it. Is there a different manual that goes through the process step by step? Any advice. I have to do this outside and I am feeling like my window of opportunity will be closing soon. Thanks, Andy

Glad that you could even find the case!!

If you're mechanically minded, and it sounds like you are, take pics with your phone as you disassemble it and re-assemble. That's what I do.

I can't imagine that feeler guage or micrometer tolerances are required on a tractor, but I could be wrong.......

Winter is coming.

Bearings, seals and gears don't know they are in a tractor, they just like to have a comfortable fit. ☺

Ha. I haven't even had much time to look at it. Do I have to remove the whole back end to get to it? Like remove back wheels and axles obviously....but Rops, 3 pt, rear fenders ? Probably most things under the seat and back? Anyone out there ever do this job? I'm wondering how many days/weeks it might turn into. Like I said it's outside, the back on jackstands. I have to work on it like this. No room in the garage.......boo

I would say that you need to MAKE room in the garage!

I can do that split in an easy day, and yes everything you pointed out needs to come off.
