HI All

New to the forum, this is actually my first post. I recently switched from a 9N to a B7500. I was wondering if a 72 inch snowblower was too big for it?

Thanks,
Jeff

According to the Farm King site my BX2670 is good for up to a 66”. Check with your blower manufacturer to see what there blowers call for.

It might handle a 72" for most conditions where you are located, but if the lake Ontario snow band drifts too far south you could have a problem. In heavy wet snow you will have to limit the ground speed to let the tractor keep up. It would be much happier with a 54" or 60" blower.

Thanks guys, I better go smaller then. Especially if the start of this winter dumped 14" of the heaviest snow we have seen in a long time is any indication of what we have instore for this year.

The owner's manual in the front few pages should have upper limits for size and weight of various implements. The B2650 has a snowblower upper limit of 60 inches and 500 lbs.

Edited for clarity, moved misplaced modifier...in the front of the manual not the front of the tractor :D

I have 3 tractors in this same class... a pair of B7510's (just a little newer than yours) and a B2410 (just a little older than yours). All three have front-mounted blowers. One 7510 has a B2771 blower (51") while the other has a B2782B (62"). The B2410 has a B2550 blower at 51".

There's no way I would go wider than 62". There's just not enough PTO HP.

BTW, I have also run the B7510 with a Meteor 51" 3PT Hitch-mounted blower, and ran that same blower on the B7200 that came before it. For heavier snow 51" seems to be right in the sweet spot for the available horsepower.

Having said that, I still have the Meteor 3PT hitch blower as my fallback plan, but there's no way I'd willingly trade it for any of the front-mounted blowers in the fleet. It's sooooo nice looking forward when you're moving snow.

Yep way too big! 60" will be about max. ;)

Sheepfarmer, I appreciate the detail you use in your post. You explain things so they are easy to understand.

Your writing skills remind me of a quote by General MacArthur when addressing his communications officer: "Don't ever issue a communique that can be understood. Always issue a communique that can not be misunderstood."

Thanks guys, I'm going to stick with the 60". I thought about the front mount, but need the loader. Plus I don't have any long runs to worry about, but a lot of snow bank issues from the town plows.
