I have a Kubota B7500 HST with an RCK-60-24B belly mower that overheats when I'm cutting the grass. It takes about 2 hours or so to get hot but then I have to shut it down and let it cool off. It has been doing this since I bought it new about 6 years ago but only and only during the hot Texas summers. Radiator is clean and anti-freeze mixture is good. Ideas anyone?

My guess is that Kubota did not size the radiator for that kind of heat. You might find a fan that has more capacity to move air but other than that slow down a little and don't work it as hard.

Ditto on what Kuboman said. Have you tried a little less rpms and a little less speed. Or a little more rpms and a little less speed. Stupid questions but I had to ask. An engine will heat up if the rev's aren't high enough for the work load.Good luck and keep us posted. Oh check air filter too.:D Dusty

I have a 2003 B7500HSD with the RCK60-24B MMM. I have been mowing 2.5 A of lawn plus 8A of pasture for 7 years. The only times that it has run hot was when the grass clippings, leaves, fuzz, etc. has blinded off the radiator, radiator prescreen, shutter plate, or the grill screen. I watch the temp gauge closely. When the temp approaches the red line, I stop and clean all the screens and the shutter plate and radiator, and I am then good to go for awhile. The MMM seems to discharge the fines from mowing right into the air flow to the screens and radiator. If I expect trouble, I take a portable compressed air tank out to the field to blow the radiator out.

The only time my 2400 gets warm is when the radiator hasn't been cleaned for a while. When I say "cleaned " I mean using a garden hose from the engine side and flushing back thru radiator fins. Even when it looks clean from front, it looks like mud when backflushing at first! The only other thing would be belt / waterpump issue.
