B7500 HST issues

Have someone needing repair on a 4x4 B7500 with the HST (with loader and backhoe). Tractor has about 400 pampered hours on it.

The transmission whines a lot, no matter how fast or slow you're going, and RPM also has no effect on the amount of noise. I understand you'll normally get some whining, but its clear that it's excessive, especially having seen very little use. The tractor can barely move no matter what or how many RPMs you're cranking 99% of the time.

New filters, fluid level okay with the correct fluid, etc.

Pulled the screen off for the hydraulic fluid and there were long and thin brass chips in it. I'm assuming brass, or some other copper-colored metal. A few metal chips as well; which I would have just chalked up to wear/original fluid, but the whole picture points to something otherwise and much more involved.

Any ideas on what this could be? What's brass in the transmission?

Any help/ideas would be greatly appreciated,

Any chance that the FEL and/or BH were removed and placed back on with a hose placed incorrectly?

Whine is somewhat normal, but typically it changes with movement and rpm's.

That screen - was it cleaned at 50 hours? 200 hours? History of that will tell a lot as to what may be going on.

I rebuilt the piston for the bucket curling on the hoe; other than that, it’s probably just as it left the factory,with filter changes and oil changes of course. But, it was whining and not going anywhere before I worked on it.

Like I said, it hasn’t seen much use at all and almost looks new as far as overall condition goes so I know it wasn’t beat on and I know the owner.

That screen definately hasn’t been off in its life. There was still paint on the bolt.

A local kubota dealer mentioned a spline being broken/stripped. Any input on that?

One other possibility is a clutch issue (slipping), with that low of hours I would think not, but seen stranger things over the years. ;)
First thing to do would be to check the clutch pedal linkage to make sure it's letting the clutch fully engage.

My B7500 had similar problem- the rubber transmission vent hose behind the seat was missing and water got into transmission- drain and change filters and oil ( use slightly cheaper oil and filters) - run until oil has circulated and warm then drain.
Replace filters and oil with Kubota products.
Was told to flush with mineral oil/varsol but thought would cause o-ring damage
