Hello all,
A few months ago I decided I needed a tractor for the new property I bought. Only one acre, but in serious need of major landscaping. I found a B7200 locally for 5.5k so I picked it up.
Day I bought it.
I changed the oil, filters, grease every fitting I could find and topped off the gear cases.
I used the machine for a few months before deciding to load the tires for more pushing traction (lots of wheel spin). It was after I jacked up the tractor that I noticed the hubs were loose. I torqued them to 120 ft-lbs, but that got me thinking that this machine was pretty neglected before I got it.
Loading tires
Next I bought a proper used box scraper since the homemade job that came with the machine was too light and just bounced over everything.
New box scraper
Short of taking the tractor completely apart and re-assembling it, what are some of the over looked items commonly found on these tractors? Loose wheel hubs freaked me out, and now I'm concerned there are other things that were over looked.
Issues in question
Play in front axle - replace axle mount bushings?
Play in steering - axle at fault?
Small grind while shifting - already adjusted clutch, whats next?
Diff lock pedal frozen - traced push arm to the lever on the rear axle case and its frozen solid from there.
Headlight sockets broken - find replacements and re-splice
Loader joy stick slop - haven't found any info on rebuilding or repairing.
Brakes are weak - inspect and replace?
