REFERENCE: Fellenz and discussion at: https://www.orangetractortalks.com/forums/threads/b7200-fuel-in-oil.14755/
I am new to this forum, but have been following for a few years. I now have a situation that has me stumped, and a $500.00+ investment without resolution.
I’ve read through the above referenced discussion several times. It all seems to make sense, so I followed the advise and first replaced the lift pump. I ran the engine and worked the tractor for a while and found that it was making more oil. I did some more research and came to the same conclusion that Erik Fellenz came to it must be the injection pump. Erik's post ended but I continued with his train of thought.
I went out and bought a rebuilt injection pump. I installed the new, to me, injection pump, bled the fuel lines, fired up the glow plugs, and she started right up! I worked the tractor for a while and guess what? Well, it appears to still be making oil.
Can anyone give me an idea as to where the additional liquid is coming from? I can not believe it is water. The radiator is full, and I know what water looks like in a crankcase. Any guidance will be greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Ed Potthoff
