Hi... in order to remove my steering box it would seem the dash panel needs to be removed. This is not covered in the service manual and the parts manual is not very helpful either, Does anyone have any insights or experience? So far I have removed 2 bolts at the bottom of the dash(facing up) and my steering wheel is off, thanks...Gary

Hi Gary, there are I think 4 more bolts. One on each side facing up and 2 at the front facing in. I am not sure about the two facing in. They are easy to spot anyway. Disconnect the wiring and remove the tach cable ,it just unscrews. then lift the dash panel over the steering column. This is a good time to check all your wiring under the dash. Good luck and keep us posted.:D dusty

Thanks Dusty! I will look for them. There are a number of panel lights that don't work. It will take a while to figure all that out!

Thanks Vic...throttle is disconnected now. Looks lke the panel is also attached to the steering column and the bolts look next to impossible to get at!
I don't want to break anything!...Gary

Well after separating the steering arm from the rod and unbolting the steering column gearbox from the trans housing and removing the the injection pump stop cable I was able to move everything around enough to get the 2 pesky nuts off.
Then I was able to remove the whole steering assembly.
Next job will be to determine if its worth fixing the old or starting with a new assembly($400US)

Hey Pete... just checked the parts manuals yours is PN is 67061-41100 Mine is 67401-41100 I would have thought they would be the same #'s. I have not ordered one yet. I ran your PN at Tractor Smart.com and it shows almost $800:eek:

Hey Guys,
I'm thinking I only really need the shaft, ballnut and whatever bearings and seals. I'm pretty sure the housing is good. And yeah the $$ for that part # were freightning.

Well... things haven't worked out so nicely. I tried to order the complete steering assembly for my B7200D and there are none available, in fact they haven't been available from Kubota for quite some time I hope this doesn't turn into NLA (confirmed by 2 sources) I have also been told just the steering shaft/ball assembly is not even available also hope this doesn't turn into NLA
There is a possibility that the shaft/nutball assembly from a B7100 may work but shaft is 2" longer (I can live with this if I have to) My local dealer did have a new B7200 assembly from a HST model that they sold me reasonably but it is 2" shorter and does not have the same dash panel mounting points. Not sure where to go next.
Thank you Vic for sending the pictures of your rebuild. I hope that you will not mind me cross posting to a new thread as I feel this may be of interest to other OTT members

Hey Garyf,

Try this guy. He had everything I needed. He specializes in rebuilt steering boxes and rebuilds for B7200, 7100, 6100,6000, 5100. I had to pay $75 for freight because of the pond between here and UK, but I had it in 3 days.

Here's a link. Great guy, very helpful. will take PayPal too.
