Hello all, I am changing oil in the front axle differential case and both axle gear cases. After draining all cases seperately I installed the drain plugs and added the amount of oil stated in the manual. Each axle gear case should hold 0.5 qt. and the differential 1.6 qts. My question is that after adding the proper amount to each one , none of them are filled to the fill plug level. Should I continue to add until oil comes out of the fill plug? i searched the subject and it seems that most have a problem getting the proper amount back in. Leave it to me to be different. Thanks, Larry

Well, I filled mine up to the fill hole but had the opposite problem ---- didn't get quite what the manual said in. They stay full so ----- good enough I guess.

Thanks for the reply. I ended up filling the knuckles to the fill hole. On the center section, I could see the axle shaft through the fill hole and left the oil level just above the axle. According to the manual it should have taken 2.6 qts total. I put in at least a quart more than that. I didn't see any breathers at all. I was concerned about the possibility of pushing out a seal if it pressured up. Thanks again , Larry
