B7200 3-point-hitch specs

Hi everyone - still new to the world of Kubota... and have some questions about the B7200HST-D.

I will be fabricating a ballast box for it and am trying to confirm the 3ph weight capacity.

The manual says the tractor 3ph is rated for 400lbs at the pins.
Tractor-data website says 469kg / 1036lbs

...400lbs seems low for a tractor this size...

Does anyone have good knowledge or experience of what the rating is?.... or perhaps it's rated 400lbs, but is "capable" of a lot more?... how much more?.....

I would use the Tractor-data ratings. The Woods 650 that was on mine weighed close to 800 pounds and the 3ph could easily lift it to install on my frame.

While those types of numbers are hard to find accurately, it will lift more than 400 lbs. I had a B7100, same basic tractor, and it would lift my 600 lb tiller easily.

Real world experience.

I had a Woods mower @700 plus pounds on mine. It would lift and transport it but I wound up with a cracked transmission case and an early transmission overhaul.

I see no need for massive amounts of rear ballast on a B7200....

My B7200 will lift until the front tires come off the ground. There is even 70 lbs of ballast hanging off the front frame. So it’s probably around 750ish lbs.

The manual 400# might be a typo for 400KG ??

A possible option... instead of a dedicated HEAVY ballast box, consider a '3ph carryall ' frame and a 'skid of weight'. it'll be a LOT easier to mount ! Also you can 'dial in' the appropriate rear ballast. I had 2 skids, one for light mulch, other for gravel.

Yea the manual clearly states 180kg, 400lb.
Also lists a number of 3ph implements and their weights - all are <400lbs although those implement loads do not present themselves as that weight "at the pins".

Anyway. I think I'm good.

The ballast is only for serious loader work. 9/10 times I won't be using it.

A caryall is a great idea, but makes the tractor too long for my needs. I am using it in tight quarters in a treed area where I need as short as possible profile to get around / snake my way in between the trees....

so... you could cut the arms back on the carryall, use a 1/2 deep skid
I've got lots of 7by7 thickwalled tubing here. keep thinking they'd make great 'ballast boxes'...IF.. I could lift them.

Here's a pic of my B7200 with a modified IBC tote I use to move firewood from the split pile to the stack location. I can fill it just about to the top with oak and it will lift it (you can hear it grunting though lol). It's ok on level ground and slopes where the tote is uphill, but once the tote end goes downhill, the front tires come off the ground.

Your 7200 looks brand new. It's definitely well cared for.
