Just picked up B7100HST and the lever will not move to engage the front wheels. I have tried rocking the machine, turning wheels, and tried to engage while moving into forward and reverse. I'm knew to the whole world of kubota, maybe i'm doing something wrong....Any help would be appreciated.

Did you have the clutch pushed down? Engine off? Engine running? If running was there a grinding noise? Need more details.

Yes I tried it with the clutch in/out, running not running. No grinding at all. The hardly moves at all......
You have any history of the tractor?
Like the 4wd drive worked a "while back"
or anything like that???
Did it work while you were "test driving it?"

If hardly moves - that might be a good sign, place a piece of pipe over the lever and move it a little at a time - see if it will gain anymore movement - dont force it - just a gentle rock forward and backwards and report back!

I have no history on the tractor. It was barn find that bought off a widow. It was being sold for penny's for......no questions asked, took it and ran!

Over all great shape with everything works except the 4wd. One cool thing about it, the motor was replaced with 21 1/2hp from a larger kubota.

I will take a pipe to the handle and see what I get......

Lol yep a pipe and a little torque broke the handle loose! Looked like it was rusted to the housing. Will report back tomorrow to see if it actually engages.

I was going to suggest a little pb blaster or something like that too. A little oil in there to help break anything loose. Glad it's working. Glad it was an easy fix.
