My '79 B7100 came with the 2-way dozer blade, subframe & 75-lb rear Kubota wheel weights. I've since removed all of these and correctly terminated the hydraulic supply/return ports.

My question concerns the six bolts that fastened the forward section of the subframe to the tractor. Should these be reinstalled, or are they only there to attach the subframe to the tractor?

They most likely attach the front frame to the engine block and are very much needed. I would reinstall them. You may or may not have to shorten them with a hacksaw if they bottom out before seating.

Yeah, put them back and just check that they actually tighten onto the surface and not just getting tight because theyre hitting the bottom of the hole. I messed with that area a while back and from what i remember those are some very deep holes so i think youll be ok.

As far as terminating the supply/return ports, i want to verify with you.. you cannot simply plug the holes in that hydraulic block. The stock ‘plate’ or cover contains a passage that lets fluid go from one side to the other. The plate you have does not have that passage so you would either have to just leave one hydraulic hose looped from one port to the other, or get a stock plate with the passage, or create a passage in the plate you have, etc. But you cant simply unscrew the hoses from that hydraulic plate and plug the holes.

I hope you are keeping that plow or selling it to someone who can use it.. that setup is nice. And it turns out the subframe is nearly identical to a loader subframe so its also a fantastic starting point for adding a loader to your tractor if you wanted to do that. 👍

I purchased new flange bolts and will install shortly.
As for 'plugging' the ports, I simply ordered the threaded steel plug & plastic fill cap from Kubota. The three-point hitch works as it should.

Once I have a bit more time, I'll clean the plow, subframe, and weights a bit better before putting it all up for sale. I have a 4-way plow & loader for my JD x595, so this setup would simply be eating into valuable space.
The B7100 will hopefully enjoy an easy life from here on out. :)

Ah ok. I was referring to the hoses coming off the hydraulic block closer to the engine, the ones visible in this pic:

Those are the ones that have to be ‘recirculated’ and cant just be plugged off.

The JD sounds nice. The Kubota can push a lot harder purely because it does have a low range, but for plowing id take the JD just for pure ergonomic factors (hydrostatic and power steering, more comfortable operator station etc) so makes sense to stick with that very nice setup for plowing. 👍 Id REALLY like to drive one of the 4WS models with a loader because i saw a youtube video that made me very excited about that, but X5 and X7 series basically dont exist at all in my part of the country so its a pipe dream. 🙂

Waking this thread up again. Does anyone know the actual weight of the 2-way hydraulic plow, the semi-permanent subframe, and the tower for the hydraulic controls? In other words, the entire dozer setup.

Somebody from across the country contacted me about this, so we're trying to figure out shipping details.
