If SDVic's trick doesn't work for you, it didn't me, you could try what I did. I went to the HF store in evansville and purchases a slide hammer bushing remover. one of the four bits will fit it and a whack or two out it will come. I have used it a few times since. $40-$50 bucks tho.

Did you adjust the sector shaft? right side of case? remove the rubber plug, use straight screwdriver.

as I am familier with car gearboxes I didn't think the sector shaft adjustment will change input shaft play. it would let the steering wheel go up and down and not move steering the amount of play it has
I will say this box a little different then SDVs article but it did not have any shims

I think the cover gaskets are used as shims. If you're down to one very thin one, have good look at the upper race thats machined on the steering shaft. Mine has worn so that I've got some up and down play as well. Was thinking of putting a shim under the lower race to take up the slack.

not on a B7100 the shims go under the race and make the shaft tighter I am reading about it now
they have shims from 0.05 to 0.50
