New guy here. I've had a 1994 B7100 HST since 1999. A problem developed a couple weeks ago. Seems it will start and run just fine for about 15 minutes (even longer if it's not worked hard) then the engine begins to slow down and it eventually dies. Wait a couple hours and it'll start up just fine and then do the same thing. Wait overnight... same thing. Wait a couple of days...same thing. The troubleshooting guide says to "check to see if air mingles in the fuel system".

Could this be it? Suggestions for where to look?

I did a search for this issue but didn't come across anything.

Yeah sounds like a restriction to the pump somewhere. Fuel filter is a good place to start, also check the flow out of the tank and check the line from the filter to the pump for clogs.

Yep, i'm with the others. its a starvation issue. changed the filter yet? or better yet, start where you know its right. empty and flush the tank dont just add good fuel to it. then move step by step to each component including hoses. clean and flush. work all the way around to the tank again thru the return lines. your sure to find it.

Sniff the fuel to see if somehow gasoline was added instead of diesel.

The symptoms you are having opens the possibility of gas contaminated diesel. The previous posts also have good recommendations if you are sure the fuel is all diesel.

If you recently loaned out the tractor or someone else topped up the tank then the suspicions are greater.

Just putting out another possibility to check.

I got a feeling its your cap in your gas tank..... getting a vacuum in the tank and not letting the gravity refill your filter... because its a time thing and not a power thing.... when it does it again take your cap off or next time you use it just loosen your cap and see what happens.
BTW I don't have a tractor yet....
