Bought this tractor this way for a steal. The frame has been severely damaged somehow and then had a complete hack try to repair. I hope whoever did this is on here and can explain themselves because GOOD GRIEF those welds are terrible! It seems the frame must be slightly warped or bent as well. Trying to source a new part, because I think repairing this one will be futile.

Has anyone ever repaired a frame like this? What do you all suppose might have happened to it?

What are these arms for anyhow? A belly mower?

Yes - and those bolts hold it up - but the vibration will back those bolts out no matter what.
The nuts are welded on the inside and can be stripped - then you drill the nut out and try to get another NUT behind the first one ...... a royal PITA no matter how you hold your mouth!!!!

Thanks for sharing. My thought was that perhaps they caught the deck on something. Have any experience with that? Honestly I'm skeptical. I don't see how it could rip the frame apart like that... These tractors don't have that much power and that's a big chunk of steel... Some people can break anything, far as I can tell the PO must have been one of those people...

Well, it is UGLY! But is it not functional? I mean, does the frame not work as intended? Excessive flex or something. Have to look again, but at first look did not notice excessive cracking.

Just curious. If there is not a mechanical issue and just aesthetics, maybe you could just live with it, or get out a grinder, and grind off some of the poor weld and fix it with more weld or a plate added to correct the situation.

No doubt at all that the excessive undercutting should be addressed. Grinding that out a bit and adding a bit more weld there might be enough.

That one's for a gear-drive not HST. I found one from All States Ag Parts that 700 shipped so I've got that coming.
OOPS--- did not notice the tractor was HST.

Way over reacting.

It's a freaking tractor!

Does it work? = Good fix
Does it not work" = fix it some more.

At a glance it looks fine, but it's not. Every shaft that runs through this frame section is bound up and I believe that has also caused a slight misalignment of the input shaft and has completely ground away the pilot bushing. Also, their welds were way too hot and undercut really bad and it's cracking in those places (not surprised.)

I don't think there's a great way to get everything in alignment perfectly. I could do it, I'm sure. But I don't have that kind of time anymore unfortunately.

Is this where they would break when they have a 3 pt backhoe mounted on them without a subframe?
