UPDATE:
The tires are mounted! I can't thank tiredguy (Al) enough for sticking with me through this problem. He spent a good deal of his time & effort putting me in touch with the right people to get this solved, without the possibility of profiting from the situation. A class act, I wish we weren't so far apart, so I could take all my tire business to him.
I must also thank Adam & William from Carlisle Tire, and Rob & Jayson from S&S tire in Peoria AZ, who mounted the tires at no charge.
After many e-mails & phone calls, exchanging drawings, pics, dimensions, & technical data, the decision was made to re-try mounting the tires at an experienced, knowledgeable shop that deals with tractor, skid steer, implement & even aircraft tires on a regular basis. They sent me to S&S Tire.
Turns out the whole problem was not enough of the proper lube. S&S mounted the tires effortlessly, and explained that tires such as these need LOTS of FULL STRENGTH mounting lube, as they are just tighter & stiffer than passenger car tires and the like. I have been without the use of the tractor for almost a month, and had been envisioning all sorts of expensive, nightmare endings to this story.
I now have a much elevated opinion of Carlisle Tire, S&S Tire, and of course, tiredguy. I think from now on he is Mr tiredguy, or maybe even Sir tiredguy. Thanks again Al!

Good to know that neither odd wheels or tires were the issue!
Good old fashion service is hard to find, but once you have found it,spread the word!

Needs to be pasted to the customer service thread:
Good idea, will do.

Yup, so far I've been busy sending out 5 e-mails & 3 phone calls thanking everyone who helped, (two more calls to go) and I will spread the word to whoever will listen from now on. Rare customer service for anywhere, but incredibly rare in the Phoenix area.

Glad to hear it LF - I have Carlisles to go on the back of mine and was starting to wonder. I'll take 'em to a tractor tire guy for sure.

I'm told the term for the problem I had is called "furling". Without enough of the proper lube, when the bead tries to seat, it drags on the rim, sort of "tucking under" instead sliding out, and up, into the seating position. In severe cases, (not mine thankfully) the tire is pressurized, deflated, and the tire is pounded, just off the bead, all the way around, with a soft mallet or heel of the hand to "unfurl" the tire bead. Then it is immediately re-inflated to seat the "unfurled" bead.
Learn something new everyday.:)

Lil Foot,
Bill I'm glad you ended up with it resolved finding the experienced dealer
that knew how to properly mount a quality built tire. Once we got together trying to solve your dilemma it went quickly and smoothly especially since you'd done such an excellent job tying to figure out what was wrong to begin with. Like you I assumed that the tire dealer you took them to knew what
they were doing and obviously not as we discovered from the results of the truly professional tire dealer. S&S Tire is in a class by itself in that regard and I'm sure that you'll be doing business with them when the need arises and
tell others of your outstanding customer satisfaction. They take pride in what they do and it shows expecting nothing in return as a gesture of good faith.
I'm glad too that you're the same as me beating my suggestion by being
there the next day with cinnamon rolls and donuts making their day just a bit brighter proving they did the right thing for you. High 5 man!!!

All this comes down to that others need to heed from this valuable lesson:
don't be looking for something where you shouldn't be shopping when your
money is best spent locally so that business is there when you really need them to be there for you. I know there's places where you can't buy what you need as I go through that here where I'm at too, but if I can buy locally I do so that when I'm in a pinch that business is open and thriving to serve me and others as well. Don't go to the grocery store for tires and don't go to the tire dealer for groceries... ;-o)

Now get busy on your tractor Bill the seat time on it will soon make you forget the drama you went through.
