I have a b7100 manual, it was working fine, then I notice when I lift my rear 3 point it would slowly drop when I let off the lever. It would go back to the middle but the lift would leak down like I wasn't hold pressure. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I am a mechanic but this is my first tractor.

Seal ring on the three point piston is shot or the cylinder walls are scored.
Open it up and find out.

Mine was the same way when I bought it, except it dropped fast.
Seal was bad, (large o-ring) plus the backing ring was gone.
New seal, backing ring, & cover seals and it's been good for 15+ years.

Thank you for your knowledge and advice, I will open it this week, so just to verify all I need to access the piston seals is remove the front cover under the seat?

Does this person need to worry about the piston rod falling down or will it just rest on the cylinder wall?

How do they get the piston out of the cylinder?
Yes, the rod will just rest on the cylinder wall.

Push the lift arms down to move the piston to the highest position, then I used a magnet to lift the piston out.

Piston has a female cone shaped back, and the rod has male radius, so they "self guide" together on reassembly.
Lube everything with hydraulic oil.

I use a suction cup to remove them, most are aluminum pistons.
