A good diesel shop will be able to check your new injectors and tell you if they are correct for your engine.
I know I am being a cheap skate but I just dropped ~$130 on new injectors and I am not about to go drop another $25 to have them tested on general principal. I know I ordered the correct part number for my application, it seems likely that I didn't get what I ordered but I have know way of verifying that other than visual inspection and the vendors reassurance (which I have not received yet). Pretty frustrating

If you hook them up on the side like you said, bleeding them will be a chore, put a piece of cardboard under them and look for a good no drip spray pattern, that's still not going to tell you if they are putting too much flow out per injection.
The only way your going to 100% know they are right is go get them tested!

I don't like buying Kubota after market parts for this exact reason, sometimes it just pays to by genuine parts.

Am I correct that you got 3 injectors for $130? If that is the case then you got 3 for the price of 1. Either way you need to have them tested to know what you have. JMHO

TxRzrBk,

When you test the injectors in free air, PLEASE BE SURE not to allow the spray to contact your skin. It's strong enough it will get under the tissue and cause you huge issues.

Unlike others here, I would opt for having the originals rebuilt (I know, just what you want to hear...). The reason for that is the rebuilder will order new internal parts anyway and the bonus is they verify the pop pressure you so know for sure they are set correctly.

Of course this is only an option if you're able to return the incorrect ones...

Good luck,

Steve

I tested the 3 injectors and 1 of the 3 has no spray pattern at all, it just pours out fuel. The other 2 have what appears to be an ideal spray pattern. I am in the process of discussing the options with the vendor, I am very tempted to take the offending injector apart to see if I can fix it but I don't want to prohibit my ability to return it should it be irreparable.

As a point of clarification the injectors I purchased are OEM injectors, the same injectors you would get if you purchased directly from a Kubota dealer, I wouldn't spend money on anything less. Yes I purchased the injectors from ebay for approximately $40/each shipped. Larger vendors like Messicks sell these injectors for about $65/each. Ebay is a good source for finding OEM parts far less than you can find them elsewhere.

Thanks for all of the help, I am hoping this is going to solve my problem, will update when I get a final solution in place.

Well,

Now you know where the problem is. Good find!

Yeah, I'd take it apart to see if something is just stuck or reversed...

Excellent news!

Excellent indeed, I was starting to get paranoid about serious internal problems.

Well I installed the 2 good new injectors and one of my old injectors just to make sure everything was ok. The tractor ran horribly, smoked and knocked like crazy and would not hold a steady RPM or idle. I put my old injectors back in and it fired right up and ran smooth. I am pretty certain I got the wrong injectors all together, going to work out returning them. Out of curiosity I tore down the leaking injector and the only noticeable difference was the shim that sits on top of the spring, instead of one shim it was several thin shims which came out to be slightly thicker than what is in my stock injectors.

The "shims" are for setting the pop off pressure.
Save yourself any more abuse and just take your old ones in and have them rebuilt!
If you bought from where I think you bought from, they are fibbing on the injectors being "factory", they are aftermarket remanufactured units, There is several sellers selling the same injectors and one is claiming they are factory injectors. They will not match the specs of true factory injectors.
One way to tell is it's a true factory part it will be in a sealed plastic bag and will have a label like this, and even newer high dollar parts will have a holographic label:

Got my rebuilt injectors installed today, no more white smoke from the exhaust and it seems to be running great. I had a little trouble getting it started mainly because I was in the habit of giving it almost zero throttle, now that the injectors don't leak I need to relearn my starting procedure. Thanks for all of the advice
