B7100, 3 point hitch slowly drops over time

I have noticed that the 3 point hitch on my 1977, geared B7100 will slowly fall over time. What are the most common causes for this? I'm assuming I have a seal or o-ring that is going bad. Let me know where I should start looking or if there are any tests to perform to diagnose this.

There are o-ring on the cylinder that lifts the arms. The cylinder is usually on top of the transmission under the front of the seat

Is this an easy repair? Anyone know the steps involved? I can't seem to find the cylinder components in the parts listing that I have. It pretty much shows the cover, but nothing more.

You didn't say how fast it drops or what load you had on the hitch. It's normal for a loaded 3 point hitch to drop over time when the tractor is off or if it is running but, doesn't have position control.

Didn't you already download the 3 part service manual on kubotabooks.com?

If you did look on PG 43 it gives a complete break down of the whole system and repair.

I didn't time how long it took for the 3 pt to drop over time, while running, I just know that it does and that is without a load. It takes about 25 minutes after the tractor shuts down, before it reaches bottom, without a load on it. I do have the service manual that I downloaded and printed out. It is at the cottage now, along with the tractor. Now that I know what to start looking at, I will dig into the manual. I just wanted to get this narrowed down first. I did find a post online, with pictures. It doesn't look to be that big of a project. I will first see how long it takes to drop, when running and go from there.

I haven't timed mine either, but 25 minutes unloaded sounds excessive. I would guess mine might drop in 25 minutes with a 250 rear blade on the 3 point. If you are carrying or using a 3 point implement and having to constantly raise the 3 point then it's probably time for a rebuild.
