By looking at the pictures you've provided, that's not an electrically operated hour meter it will be mechanical, driven by the Tachometer cable spinning.

Sorry guys, been away for a bit. Will try to get pics this weekend and post them. The meter I am trying to install looks similar to the one on the left in the pics in the thread from "etmccaus" on Mar 9.
