Here is my story. Have owned for aprox 4 years. When first bought had no fuel filter.
Installed new fuel filter and provide sea foam in diesel.
Today working in garden and after about 15 min seemed to loose power. Tried to give more gas and no luck. Was able to get out of garden but not back to barn. Died and would start but struggled to run. Left tractor, went to town came back in about a hour and fired up and drove to barn no problem.

Also noticed but not related I assume, rear-end seems to be noisier. Or maybe since I wasn't wearing headset protection noticed more.
Any and all thoughts appreciated.

sounds like you had a restricted fuel problem - like clogged filter and or bad stuff getting to the injectors. Fuel "clean" ? Has something clogged the vent on the fuel tank ? have you changed the fuel filter lately?
If everything seems ok - drain fuel and start over with fresh and see if that makes a difference.

Check fluids that go to the rear end too !

Also check the vent in the fuel cap.

Least expensive fuel related solution is change the fuel filter first. Bleed the system and see how it does. As others have said, you have a fuel restriction somewhere.

Now for the rest of the story.
During the course of time I built a 80x30 barn, dug the foundation with my Kubota and refilled inside for slab . This equated to mounds of dirt aprox 15ft tall which were lifted with front end loader and stacked and then re installed inside barn area for slab and out side along foundation walls. Also moved aprox 600 yards of manure delivered from the county Fair and aprox 20 yds fine silted dirt for garden. Allot of this would fall on the front of the tractor when bucket was over loaded (thought nothing of it). Needless to say I have worked this Kubota but never once did I pull the front guard on tractor and look directly at the fins of the radiator but only brushed off occasionally the front protective shroud. Followed the advice and changed the fuel filter, which needed to be done. I believe my fuel lines are hooked up backwards for I never did get the fuel to stop, two gallons later I had the filter changed.
During the course of the filter change I thought with winter coming on check radiator and top off. Well it took allot of water. Well drain, well could not get the drain cock open. Well pulled the hose on the side of the motor and plenty of anti freeze came out and water.
Went to town picked up anti freeze and came back, flushed radiator (figured out pet cock) filled and winterized and started up.
After starting decided to pull radiator shroud and have a look at the fins.
Radiator was probably 80% plugged solid with dirt and what ever could be stuffed in there. Took several tries to blow out with compressor and wet down into mud formula.
Morrow of story. Check radiator by pulling protective grate and try shining flashlight through.
I think I was very lucky, no leaks as far as I can tell, no water in oil.
Still don't know if thermostat is working.
I was lucky in that tractor stopped running after getting hot/ maybe something built in?
Has anyone installed a temperature gauge ?
Where did you install sensor in line?
Do you have pictures?

if you have the b7000 i think that is 2 cylinder with no pump and no thermostat,
it cools it self with water and its called thermosyphon,
look at my posts here and you will understand and you can see and how i install my temp gauge.

Thanks for the reply. You are correct two cylinder. Odd no pump nor thermostat. I do not have a pre tapped hole as you show but will work on something this spring when I am done moving snow. Also no whistle. Maybe my radiator cap is bad. What temperature should raise a red flag when reading my temp gauge?

from my tests i think that if you are under 115 Celsius ~ 240 degrees Fahrenheit you are in the green or yellow zone.
after that it starts the red zone and im not saying that it will boil but i don't think its good.

Does anyone have a picture of the whistle?
Mine does not have one and would like to install.
Is it hooked to a rubber hose or copper tubing?
Also am going to replace both pre heaters.
Is there a special way to install or just pull and replace.
A man who has been around a few years at a Kubota dealership I went to said to first turn over a few times and then hit the pre heaters.

Would be best to get the hose from an auto parts store. Most of the time they are just a few bucks. Might have to spend a few minutes in front of the rack to find one that matches up. I was able to replace both top and bottom for about 6$ and purchased just one hose. Just made sure one end matched the top hose and the other end matched the bottom. Then it was a matter of cut and fit :D

I think the whistle that is mounted on the front right frame and attached to the radiator neck by a hose or tube.

Look over in the service forum for all the answers you want, the thread title is thermosyphon heat transfer, or some such similar. It is the simplest cooling system there is, other than air cooling...

The whistle for a L185 is part number 15021-72040 ($22)

It would probably work on any tractor.

Thanks for info on the whistle. They wanted $100 @ the Kubota dealer in Yakima WA for the whistle. I did buy new glow plugs from them for $9 each which I thought was reasonable.
I am trying to get away from setting a heat lamp on the motor for 15 min before I pre heat with glow plugs and then start. AVG temp 35% outside.
If this don't work, I will try new injectors or have the old ones cleaned.
The dealer said that the cost of cleaning may be the same as new injectors.
Will report on if the new glow plugs helped eliminate the need for heat lamp. Expecting (weather man says) temp in single digits and 18 inches of snow.
Will also see if glow plug indicator and dash is brighter
I am assuming the glow plugs have never been replaced, so they may be aprox 44yrs old.
Saturday job.

Wow, $9 for a glow plug, and $100 for a whistle? Something seriously wrong there- but I found the same thing at my stealer.

Hey Ron, any news on your fuel problem?
Installed new pre heaters. Old ones had original paint, 40 plus years old.
Pre heater display on dash starting glowing within 30 seconds and can now be seen during day. Started right up. Interesting item that came up (before installing new glow plugs). I put battery charger on battery to see if it made a difference. When first hooked to battery scale showed drawing two amps to charge batter. After hitting pre heat lever, charger showed putting out 8 amps. Can only assume that glow plugs draw 6amps during pre heat cycle. Before replacement of pre heaters , min 90 seconds and would have to squint and cover observation hole to see if glowing red.
Regarding fuel, believe tractor got hot and shut down. Corrected that problem by blowing out radiator that was 80% plugged solid with years of my neglect and lack of attention to detail. I am going to replace injectors.
BTW manual you want is for a 7001. I have one and will try and copy and post.

Glad to hear you've got your problem fixed. Mine is hard to start which I suspect is a fuel flow problem. I don't have the indicator light for the glow plugs just a hole in the dash.

That "hole in the dash" is the glow plug indicator, in the hole will be a single loop of wire that will glow red hot when the glow plugs are heated and are up to temp, on that tractor about 30 seconds of glow heating should make it work.
And to heat the glow plugs turn the key backwards.;)
