B6200D Electrical

So i became a new parent to a B6200D in spring time and love it. I've never had something like this so i'm still learning how to use it properly. One of the taillights never worked and neither do the hazard lights and so on one rainy day a couple weeks back i decided to look into the problem. After several hours i finally got the taillights working. But never got the hazards working. My bigger problem seems to be that somebody butchered the wiring harness. They have splices where there shouldn't be splices. Wires running in weird ways. For example two sets of wires run to the front of the tractor and come out by the battery, go through two fusible links, then run back to the dash, one of them was for the hazards. And the fuse block seems to be completely missing. Instead, it looks like they added up the various fuses and put in one fuse, a 30-amp fuse. I'm no electrical genius, but i'm smart enough to know that you can't do that.

I thought about getting a new wiring harness but can't seem to find one. I haven't checked with a local dealer, yet, so it's possible to still get one. A friend said to make a new harness. Which i can do since i have the service manuals. (Side note about that, none of the wiring color in the manual matched with the actual colors on the tractor, any reason for this?) However with some parts missing i don't know if i want to do it. So i was wondering if anybody had the same tractor could get me a few pics of the original wiring harness. Especially by the left side of the battery and behind the dash. The more pics i can get of it the better.

Also, there seems to be a small gray box attached the firewall on the left hand side that looks like something used to attach to it. Possibly the old fuse box? Does anybody know what that was? I'll get pics of it and the condition of the wiring harness on it now sometime tomorrow if i can if it'll help.

I can't help very much except to say that your B6200 may not have had a "fuse box". I have three B7100's and they do not have fuse boxes. They have 2 inline fuse holders behind the dash. No actual fuse box. A B6200 is only the next generation from the B7100. I am not saying yours did not have one but it is possible it did not. Does your wiring diagram show a fuse box or just fused locations along some wires?

Pyro, you might try to find a salvaged tractor and get the complete harness. In the classified section of this forum there was/is a person in Searcy, Ark. with some listings. He ask you to go to his Craig's List ad to get his number. If you can't find it, send me a PM and I will give you his number.

Here is another copy of the wiring layout, I find a block with 2 fuses in it (marked in yellow).

It's not that unusual for there to be several different scematics and wiring colors for a tractor run, look at these and see if they help?

Kubotasam, I had that same thought. If that truly is the case then that makes things easier. The attachments Wolfman posted are the exact same ones in my service manual. It doesn't actually show a fuse block but i don't remember many electrical schematics that do, just the fact that there is a fuse there. Either way i think it'll be just fine as long as it's wired right (and not combined like it currently is).

D2, that thought had never even occurred to me. I'll give the classifieds a look later on and if i can't find the posting i'll send you a pm. Thanks! I wonder if there is a tractor junk yard where one could get parts. Hmmmm.

I did think of something in relation to the wire diagram. My taillights have a dual filament bulb that is used (they get brighter when you turn the headlights on). But there is nothing in the schematic showing a second circuit to the taillights. Not a complaint or anything, just an observation.

The tail lights shouldn't get brighter when you turn on the headlights, they should just turn on dim, the brighter, second element should be wired to the flasher circuit.
