B6200 w/ Front Mount B2551 Snowblower: Need PTO Help

Hi all,
New to the forum and new to tractors!
I recently moved to a rural 7 acre property and got a B6200 with 60" mower deck to help manage it. It handled the mowing amazingly.

I'm now wanting to put it to use in the winter months clearing snow and have managed to acquire a B2551 with a subframe from a B7200.
The subframe seems to be a slightly different length than what my B6200 wants, but I managed to get it attached with only slight modification to the front brackets. Raising and lowering will be powered by an electric winch.

Where it all falls apart is driving the blower, as I do not have the PTO assembly. The blower connects to the subframe, and the subframe should connect to the mid-PTO. I'm just in way over my head at what I'm even looking at with the PTO stuff.

What (I think) I know:
- The mid-PTO is a 31/32" 10 spline (or 25mm), and could be adapted to a standard 1-3/8" 6 spline with an adapter like this. Or this yoke attached directly.
- The mid-PTO is the older style of clevis pin and split pin, not a push pin.
- The yoke(?) from the mower is still on the driveshaft and I think should be removed and kept with the mower, unless it's useful somehow in the attachment of the blower.
- I have to span about 55" from the mid-PTO to the front of the subframe, with little clearance near the mid-PTO. There would be no expansion or contraction in the shaft as the subframe is rigidly mounted, any movement happens between the subframe and the blower itself.
- The shaft on the rear facing portion of the subframe is 1" diameter. I believe this is a 1" smooth bore with 1/4" keyway

This feels like it should be possible, and I'm so close to having a running snowblower! Just need some advice on how to get over the finish line here.

P.S. Don't judge the attachment of the subframe to the front of the tractor. I have to pick up the correct bolts yet, the pic is just a test fit after modification of the bracket.

I think that subframe you are using is designed to be powered not from the mid pto on a HST transmission tractor but from a electric clutch pto mounted to the front of the engine crankshaft on a gear drive tractor. The gear drive tractors did not have the mid pto.
If you go to the kubota parts website (kubotausa.com) and put in B2551 as model number you will be able to see the different types of subframes that were available at the time that was sold.
The v-belt pulley on the front of your subframe is what shows it was supposed to be driven with a belt from the electric clutch above it mounted to the front of the crank.

Interesting! Makes sense, I wondered what the pulley was for. My frame looks to be the B100.

In person it looks fairly straightforward to run from the mid PTO, as it’s a straight shot to the front. I figure I can assemble a bare PTO shaft with the correct ends and it’ll be protected by the tractor on top and the subframe on the bottom. Is ~55” too long to span for the shaft?

Or do you think it would be easier to adapt to the front of the crank?

What you’ve seen is all the parts I have. Theres a large amount of missing pieces for the correct assembly.
Seems simple enough to build something to hold the chute direction handle, the missing hydraulics are replaced by my winch. It’s just getting power to it that’s the hang up… kind of crucial lol

Interestingly, you can see my brackets that hold the subframe to the tractor do not have the holes in them to attach the belt guard in the diagram. Makes me think this was never used in that configuration at all

This is what you need:

The B6200 did not have a single shaft as it couldn't clear the axle and allow the blower to raise and lower without binding the drive shaft.

Also this blower was not meant to mount on a B6200E that's why your having issues with the mounts.

I was studying here diagrams today! I do have a shaft between the subframe and the blower as per the second diagram. You can see the front and back of the shaft in my pics 1&2 (and pic 5 for the yoke that’s on the blower)

The fixed shaft from the first diagram is all I need I think. Will have to piece it together but that should be be all it takes.

Do you think I could build a shaft myself with cheap parts? Obviously the mid-PTO side is the costly side, but could I then just use a 1” keyed shaft with basic 1” smooth bore 1/4 keyed yokes to attach the shaft to the subframe shaft?

I attached a pic of the driveline for the B2551. The subframe is meant to fit a variety of machines too.

Thank you! I’m guessing this from the B2551 manual? I have one on the way but we have a postal strike in Canada at the moment. Has made it tricky to get this going before the snow flies
