Hi, so I've reviewed the forums and scoured the internet. I've learned a few things about my "new to me" 4x4 B6200 equipped with turf tires.
Manual states three sizes on this model: Farm 5-12, 7-16: Farm 6-12 B, 8-16; and Turf 20.5x8.00-10, 29x12.00-15
1. If I wanted to change to AG, I need to swap rims as it is not recommended to put AG tires on the turf rims.
2. I've also learned that changing the ratio between the front and rear will mess with the driveline components.
3. I am also reading that turf tires tend to be softer, puncture easily and wear quicker.
This tractor has been used and was sold to me with a larger style brush hog. The inner sidewalls of the rear tires are both plugged and not holding air very well. My immediate plans for the tractor include brush hogging and skidding logs so new tires are in order.
I've given up trying to find the correct size rims for AG tires considering the age of this tractor - which leads me back turf tires. I know I can add chains for additional traction if needed.
I am considering the Carlisle Multi Trac C/S tire - 29X12.50-15 (CR 560478 ) on the rear. This is a 10 ply tire. I am having a difficult time finding front tires but looking at Carlisle Turf Master - 20X8-10, however this is only a 4 ply tire. Titan has a Multi Trac C/S tire for the front and rear which are 8 ply.
Should I pull the trigger on the 10 ply tires? Or is there some reason I should stick to a lower ply tire. I am also imaging that there will be less flex but am not sure how that would affect performance other than ride quality.
Oh and thank you in advance for your comments/suggestions.
