Hi guys .I have a B6200 fwd hst . The problem I have is that when I push the clutch to engage the pto it makes a terrible screeching , grinding noise. If I slow the rpms I can get the pto to engage but have to immediately increase the rpms to keep it from stalling when I engage the clutch. After the pto is engaged it performs as it should . Is this a stuck clutch plate ,a bad throw out bearing or something else ? I am planning on splitting the tractor when mowing season is over. Just wondered if anyone can tell me what to expect when I do. Thanks in advance for any replies . This forum and you guys are a treasure for an owner! Btw when I say I have to increase the rpms ;that is with a finish mower attached.

Based on what you describe - it does sound like a bad throwout bearing. You'll know as soon as you get in there.
AND while there.....might be a good time to replace ALL THE clutch parts.....just in case!;):)

Thanks guys. I guess what I didn't mention was that the clutch doesn't seem to disengage. That's why I have to slow the rpms so low and then rake the pto in and quickly rev it back up. I thought maybe the clutch was stuck to the pressure plate or flywheel. I'll find out soon enough.
