B6200 Engine Swap

I have a B6200 with the stock D850 motor.

Which engine models or tractor models could I SWAP and put into my B6200 without too much custom fitting?

B6200 - D850
B7200 - D950
B1550 - ?
B8200 - D950-A-DT

750, 850, 950 are all the same.


Oil pan configurations and water pump...no water pump......etc......there are some differences but save your existing engine and swap as necessary.

Maybe it's marketing garbage, but I found it odd that the 6200 with D850 is rated at 15 HP, and the 7100 with D750 is rated at 16 HP (according to Tractor Data). I thought the 850 was an upgrade to the 750 power wise?

Be careful if considering going to a D950. Yes, it will fit, but you will need to figure out some way to dump the excess heat. Kubota sized the radiator to match the engine displacement.

In other words, in the case of swapping in a D950, it will build heat because the smaller radiator won't be able to cool it well enough. Depending on outside temp, and how hard you're working the tractor, it may be an issue or it may not.

Also, the D750 was thermosyphon cooled so it was designed to take larger diameter radiator hoses. If your original engine had a water pump (I think it does) then the hose connections on the radiator will be smaller diameter. You **might** be able to swap the front cover from engine to engine and that would give you a water pump on a D750 if you decide to go that route. Not 100% sure because I haven't tried it.

d750 comes in both flavours, pressureised and thermo-syphon, just depends on your application and location.

same goes to hoses, smaller dia for pressureised and larger dia for thermo.
