B6100D oil light conversion to gauge

Trying to convert oil light to gauge. Tried a brass adapter and broke it off in the block. 2 days to take it out with a dremel tool and tiny carbide bits. wondering if anyone tried this with steel adapter and were to buy it. seems these days the older I get the dumber. I should have known right away this was a no no.

Brass would have been fine, but I'll bet you had the wrong size /Thread type, the fittings are BSPT not NPT.

If you have a Napa auto parts they should have the fitting on hand.
If not then you can get them off eBay.

This fitting will allow both the light and gauge to work.
