B6100 Dynamo Removing

Have a 1978 B6100 and trying to remove the Dynamo. I’m going to repair it but can’t seem to get the last nut underneath off… Can’t even get the 10mm on the nut…
I must be missing something, it looks like you must remove the front cover on the engine to get to it…
Anyone have any suggestion? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

I assume you have a D750 engine. See oz Chris post on how he removed his.

Do do have an set of ratcheting ring spanners... But they are the first ones out... Very large around the ratcheting ring... Sounds like I need new ones...

Hi,
I think you're talking about the top bolt, in fact is a little difficult to reach, I had to use an extension for the ratchet and a normal key to unlock and relock.
however it is not necessary to

remove the front cover on the engine to get to it…

Bend a long 10 mm open end closed end wrench. Just got through with doing mine.

I tried that yesterday without heat, it broke... I was going to try to buy a bent open end wrench....

I thought it was a good excuse to buy some new tools!
See my thread for what I used. You need one with a fine ratchet as you can only get less than an eighth of a turn on it, it was only one click on mine. When it loosens need to manually pull spanner out and ratchet it around so takes a while untl it is loose enough that I then used a screw driver to lever the edges to turn the nut off the rest of the way. A five minute job for that one nut, what a pain....
I took the stud out and put the nut on the stud so it was a bit like putting in a bolt to get it back on as I couldn't even get the misses to get her little fingers into that spot... Have fun...

Can you see the oil pressure relief valve bolt under the oil filter on yours? I am trying to get some dimensions so I can drill a hole in the frame so I can get at mine?

The workshop manual says you need to remove the head to change the dynamo. I find it hard to believe that Kubota designed such a poor mounting system. I know many have made bent wrenches to do it. Good luck.

So how are you coming along? I broke one wrench bending it, then got a cheapie one and it bent real good. Also putting the nut back on is worse than getting it off. I used the same wrench (closed end) and put tape on the backside of the opening on the wrench ( then put a little grease on the inside so it would not stick to the nut). You may have to change the rotation of the nut a couple of times to get it started though. GOOD LUCK and let us know

Well it’s all done… I took my new 10mm ratcheting ring spanner and super glued the nut into it…
I took a little screw driver to push against it, this gave me one click at a time… In about two minutes I was done… I wiggled the ring spanner around and it popped off.

I have used the same trick, & have also used duct tape, and masking tape as well.
