Hi guys,

I'm new to this forum and was hoping you guys would have to advice for me. I'm based in Johannesburg South Africa.

I have a b6000 that has been running well for a while now. The last few weeks however it started giving me a hard time starting up first thing in the morning. I checked the glow plugs as well as the power supply to the plugs and all seems to be ok.

I activate the glow plugs for 30 seconds to 60 seconds and then try to start the tractor but it is as if the tractor is not getting enough fuel. I have to keep the starter motor turning for quite a while and eventually I can hear the tractor wants to start. Even then it would turn over slowly as if not getting fuel, then after a few seconds it picks up revs and runs fine.

After a few minutes of use I can turn the tractor off and it would then start easily.

Here's a video of the "cold" start as well as the "warm" start.
Cold:

Warm:

Any advice would be appreciated.

Kind regards,
Hilton

not sure if this is accurate, but my b6000 would so something very similar until i replaced the starter. Does a bad starter drain the battery? It seemed to be the case with mine. If i left it running it was fine, even if i turned it off and started it pretty quickly there after. But, if i left it off for an extended period of time i would always have to jump it.

IF it seems like a fuel problem you should go through it and make sure fuel is flowing. Change the fuel filter and give that a try. If it's still acting up I would try it without the fuel tank cap to see if the cap is venting air like it should. Other common problems are bad fuel and debris at the bottom of the tank obstructing fuel flow. If your going to drain and check that, you mind as well put some fresh fuel in it for good measure. If any of those don't work, at least you have your problem pinpointed at somewhere downstream of the fuel filter.
