Hey we just currently purchased a B6000 4wd and it was running great for about a week, used it to scrape the driveway with no issues. I was using the mower yesterday and it started running sluggishly then it would speed back up then go sluggish again. It died on me I towed it back to the barn and checked the filters and fuel lines drained out the old diesel and I am going to put fresh diesel in. I have zero experience on diesel engines and was wondering if there was anything else I should do before I try starting it up? Thanks in advance.

Alright thanks Vic. We are just waiting on the fuel pump to get here should show up some time this week.

Calling it a fuel pump is kind of a Mis-explanation of what it is, it's a lift pump, the difference is that it doesn't create pressure or much flow, it just helps lift the fuel up to the injection pump where all the pressure is made.
On most models with the tank above the engine you don't even need the lift pump as the pressure from just the fuel falling is more than enough to get the job done.
So if you think the lift pump causing is your problem it's highly unlikely.
The B6000 runs just fine without a fuel pump.
I guess the only reason it is there is it may be needed in certain circumstances such as travelling up a steep slope with a low fuel level. I have not tested this theory as my land is flat.

One more vote for bleeding the system and going back to work. Mine does the same speed up thing when I run it out of fuel. On the L245DT that I have you have to bleed it on top of the fuel filter and then again at the fuel injection pump. It has always started by doing just that. STAY AWAY from starting fluid. If this is new to you.
