Good evening everyone! First time on here, I recently picked up a B6000 with 206 loader and a woods finish mower. For the price I got the whole package, I was happy.

So long story short, the gentleman i purchased it from bought it running and operating albeit rough around the edges. He then began disassembly for a restoration but had some unexpected health problems and he had to sell. I picked it up as a basket case, lots of parts and broken down into engine, front case, rear case and trans tunnel.

I have the owners, loader and mower manuals.

So here's my first of many questions most likely, I'm working to put it back together but want to test a few things before I put the two halves back together. First up is testing the engine, and putting the fuel system back together. In the attached photo, the two arrows point to what I think are the fuel inlet from fuel pump and the second one has me stumped? Pressure port? Return line?

Don't worry about the wood A-Frame, its built for extremely light duty, mostly since I work alone in the garage and sometimes holding a odd sized part is super helpful. Max I've lifted with it is maybe 100 pounds.

I attached a few other photos of the day it came home and where it's at now.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

- Nick

That's a breather, take the red cap/ plug off of it and put a piece of hose on it that extends down below the oil pan.

Wolfman,

Thanks so much for the help, can't believe I didn't see that on messicks.

---break---

I got the engine running, it ran and idled great so thats a huge win! That was my major check before I reassembled the halves.

I made a ton of progress today on my day off, next steps will be pressure wash and prep for chassis paint. I'm even more excited about this little tractor than when I got it home.

I made a lot of progress since I last posted, less than I wanted too but that's how it goes sometimes right?

I was able to get the tractor de-greased and prepped for paint, then got 1 good coat of paint down. It came out a little darker than I wanted but overall I'm happy with it. 1 more coat maybe 2 should be all I need. I'm mounting the hard hydraulic lines this week, I flushed the hydro pump with some hydro oil since it was left open for a while by previous owner.

I've read on here there are a few oils people use (80W-90, Kubota UDT, AMSOIL and others). Does anyone have a preference? My plan is to fill it, drive the tractor around my yard, cycle the hydraulics and then drain and replace with fresh, clean fluid.

Also, has anyone rebuilt their wiring harness? mine is in OK shape but definitely could use some TLC. After looking at it and the wiring diagram, my key switch is completely unhooked...any reason for this?

finally, does anyone know what tire combo this is? I really love these less aggressive AG/industrial tires but also know these little tractors are very sensitive to tire size and overall diameter for the 4wd system.

You can use any good qualuty UTTO. Kubota stopped recommending gear oil in their transmissions decades ago.

Measure distance from center of hub to ground on front and rear tires. That is your current rolling cicumference ratio. Now lookup the gear ratio and use it to calculate lead/lag. You want something in the neighborhood of 3-5% lead. The main concern is maximizing pull and minimizing tire wear.

Well, I made a bunch of progress from my last post. I got all the body panels cleaned up and painted, the hood is in rough shape. I'll be doing some metal repair in the future but it turned out ok for now. I'm waiting on new stickers and the gasket for my oil bath intake bowl. I'm going to begin cleaning up and re-installing the wiring harness, so I can run the tractor from the dash vs with my jumper cables and battery.

I also realized my front frame was damaged at some point, you can see it's short in front of the radiator...my best guess is it appears 4-5 inches of frame are just missing. I plan on fabbing up new frame rails and the front crossmember prior to my loader going back on.

as always, more to come but progress will be slow since I'll be traveling for work.
