Hello everyone, I'm new here. I have just purchased a B6000 and would like to purchase a cutter for it. My 4 ft is too heavy for it to lift and wonder if there is a certain make or model of one out there in production today that would work? Thanks for your time.

Welcome to OTT B6000. Glad you joined us. I don't know of any cutters less than 48".

Not sure how rough your area to mow is but you may want to get a finish mower that has wheels so your tractor has little weight on the 3PH.

I have never seen a rough cut mower in a similar format as the finish mowers - not sure why not but I guess the manufacturers don't want to compete with the shredder market or the flail market.

A flail mower may work but I don't know how small they make those - there are a few threads on here about how and what the mow.

I do hope you realize that the power take off spins the opposite direction from most other tractors. So unless you already have the PTO reverser you need to find a special built cutter that is designed to spin in the opposite direction from most.

Yes kubotasam I"m aware. THanks though. I drove many of these while in Japan and just reversed the blades on some cutters if it was possible. There is a cutter dealer in Ga who sells one that rotates CC. THey just don't have a smaller cutter than a 4'. Maybe there is no such thing. My old one is just 4' but incredibly heavy. I bought this tractor, well, traded a gun for it, just because it was so small and neat looking. Runs like new and everything works) except for lights.

I guess by cutter you mean brush hog.

I have a B6000 and the tool I use most often is a 1 metre brush hog.

The tool weighs around 150 kg and I have 60 kg weight on the front.

It works fine like this and the B6000 has enough power/torque to deal with the work load. If the job is very heavy you have to drop down a gear and work slower but it is rare that I have to do this.

Ideally a little more weight on the front would be better but it works with 60 kg.

On my brush hog it is not possible to reverse the blades.

I use an 18 spline to 6 spline PTO adapter bought from the UK but similar available in the USA. I got a local engineering shop to make an edge on each blade opposite the original edge.

It works fine.

I would say you need to first repair or rebuild the three point lift or hydraulic system, it should lift a mower of that size with no problem. ;)
