B3030 Tranmission/HST Maintenance

We got a B3030 with 400 hours on it. The trans & hst oil and filters has not been changed since the 50 hour service (or so we were told). I got the two filters, 5 gallons of very expensive hydraulic oil and a operator manual from the dealer. Can someone point out where these three drain plugs are? The illustrations in this manual are absolute crap. I think it's pointing at a plug at the very bottom of the mid-pto? I can't find the other two. I have a guess what they are but not for sure. Anyone have a better pic?

So do I just drain, swap filters, fill and go? I wasn't sure if I needed to preload oil in the filters before installing. I really don't feel very confident about this after reading this manual. I don't know if it's just poorly converted to English or bad to start with. The manuals for my other color tractors seem much more detailed. I couldn't find a video on the net so I thought I would ask here. Good forum! Thanks for the help!!

You'll see the drain bolts once you get under the tractor. Generally, the main drain in the center will be a large bolt, and the other 2 drains are at a low point on each differential. If you remove a bolt and nothing comes out, try the next most obvious one! The filters can be difficult to remove, particularly at the 50h service. Some of the top "filter breakers" (for the real difficult ones) are a chain wrench, air impact chisle, or a regular strap wrench with some friction material added. I know your filters were changed at 50, just something to be prepared for...
Never pre load filters
I use a large Tupperware style storage container to drain into.

Be sure to clean your strainer and replace the gaskets. Make sure your old hyd. filter gasket isn't stuck to the housing.

Attached is the page with the instructions and a diagram for your B3030.

There is a lower outward facing bolt just below the rear axle and a large bolt in the center forward of the rear axle. There is a filter on each side of the tractor.

Good luck.

Thank you all for the replies. So, I don't need to pre-load the filters with fluid?

Also, where is the strainer at that needs cleaned? The book says nothing about that.

Some machines have a screen strainer, some don't. My previous B8200 had one, and the L3410 and 4060 do not.
There is no need to pre fill the filters, and generally speaking it's a bad practice - particularly with fuel filters.
