I agree but getting to them is almost impossible as they are between the frame and have cross members that make access next to impossible. There has to be something that I am missing on how to get the shaft out.
Guys... I replaced my u joints on the B2910's baby brother ... my B2410! I took a lot of cogitating and couple of hours to get the drive off and on my work bench to replace the u joints.
To get the the roll pins on the transmission output shaft... I carefully "Triple" measured, said a short prayer and used a small 3/4" hole saw to make a hole in the frame plate Directly over the pin.
Worked like a charm!
The reinstall took two people as I was under the tractor working the U joint back on the out put spline while my wife was observing the the alignment of the roll pin holes in the mating units. Took a couple shots at rotating the u joint to hit just the right tooth. Wifey inserted a 16# nail to hold it in place and I was off to the races. At an ACE hardware I picked up a 3/4" plastic hole cap...
This beat the hell out of splitting the tractor!
