Is this a new to you unit or not? Doesn't seem right if all the parts are correct for your application. Possible wrong shafts.

Get the OEM installation instructions for the PTO adapter and read and follow the instructions. Most likely the shaft has come loose from the set screw collars and has moved out of its original location and needs to be reset, and the locking collars retightened. You might have to contact a Kubota dealer to get a PDF copy of the original instructions, or you might be able to find them somewhere on the internet.

if I understand your problem correctly, this may help. I have a cabbed 2650 with the b2782b snowblower, and this is the assembly manual that I used to put things together. Hopefully it will be of some value

edit: I looked at the instruction sheet for My cabbed tractor, and the only difference was in section 2, my dimension is 9 3/8” from the end of the shaft. Everything else looked the same. Make sure you use thread locker on the set screws for the flange bearings.

thanks guys ya the set screws are the culprit there is none in the collars,shaft did get beat up some may need to replace,geting new set screws in am. im learningand this could have been avoided. thanks again

After you get it all repaired I recommend to mark the shaft with a paint marker. It gives a quick visual if anything has moved. I use bright yellow so it really stands out.

Try dressing it with a file and then see if you need to replace it or if it is still serviceable. No need to spend money when an hour's time will make it work.

re: set screws..
Old timer's trick was to put a 2nd setscrew to 'lock' the 1st one in. This only works if there's enough height in the hole of course, today you'd probably use a 'medium' strength Locktite product ( or nail polish.....)

I guess you figured out it was setscrews??

My guess was going to be you had the driveshaft on backwards. It would technically work(I think?)(at least on my BX), but there's no ridge for the retaining clip to clip into on the one end (PTO) that's keyed that way.
