B2782A runs on top of the snow, Level/ Perpendicular adjustment?

I have a B2782A and it works well except the blower will ride up on top of the snow leaving 1 or 2 inches behind every 40ft or so. If I put down pressure on the blower rather than the normal float it works better but occasionally still does it. I have adjusted the skid shoes so the cutting edge is ~3/32" off the ground with no change. I think my issue is the blower isn't positioned properly to the ground. I adapted a B2791 subframe and the B2782 blower to my B9200 and I think the blower angled too far back. Here is a picture:

Before is start modifying parts to get the position to where I think it should be I wanted to check and see if others have this issue with a standard set up.

If this is abnormal I'll need to know what the proper placement it, I'm assuming the back of the blower should be perpendicular to the ground. Pictures of a standard set up from the side would be great. Also if anyone know any adjustments that can be made, I took a look and all the bolt holes I found are holes and none are slots.

Your 'angle of attack' is wrong. The blower should set level or be slightly forward tilting, not backwards tilting. When leaning back, it will 'sled up' on the snow.

What Sidecar said - right now it wants to ride up and over snow - not "dig" into.
Looking at your shoes....
Move "B" to hole 1 or 2 from top - and or change the front end geometry (raise the rear of blower) so the front is tilted down a bit.

Looks like your subframe is hanging too low up front. The part from the tractor to the blower shouldn’t be practically dragging on the ground.

Is there another set of holes for the tongue shaped quick hitch to bolt to the subframe? On my B2733 subframe with a B2781 snow blower there are two sets of mounting holes. One set slightly higher than the other. Which set of holes you use depends on the height of the tractor frame from the ground. If you have that option to raise the mounting point of the quick hitch to the subframe it would change the angle of the snow blower and lower the front. I have attached a picture of the page from the subframe manual. B2733 page.JPG

I do agree with BAP that it looks like the subframe is to low.

I have a B2781 snow blower (same as yours only not as wide) with a B2733 subframe on a B2410 tractor. The subframe is 6 1/2" from the ground, and runs parallel with tractor frame. As you stated the back of the blower is perpendicular to the ground.
Here is a couple of close ups of the quick hitch into the back of the blower.
If you look close you can see part of the top set of holes to mount the quick hitch to the subframe that I was talking about in my first post.

Sam - different tractor/blower combination, but this is my BX2360 tractor with BX2750D blower. I don’t recall front hitch model.
I clear about 3” on the male hitch, and my blower cutter edge is about 1 1/2” off level floor.

Thanks for everyone feedback, the subframe is too low. The frame is ~4.5" off the ground and the tongue is ~1.5" at it's lowest point and not level against the ground. I can't raise the frame up since the front diff is in the way.

There aren't any additional holes to raise the pivot point for the tongue or to lower the mount on the blower. I'll take a look in the off season and see which will be easier to fabricate.

I make some brackets to move the mounting holes for the tongue 3" higher which made the back of the blower perpendicular with the ground. It seems to work better but I need to adjust the skid shoes which might make more of a difference. The main thing I don't like is I can only lift the blower 2 maybe 3 inches off the ground. I think I'm going to modify the mounting frame on the blower to change it's angle and move the tongue back to it's original position so I get more lift. I'll post picture of the brackets tonight.

It's defiantly better but I'm not sure if it's correct. I know it will always leave some snow behind and my driveway is terrible so it hard to tell if it good and the driveway is causing the left over or if it needs to be adjusted more. It is nearly perpendicular to the ground but hard to tell from the picture as the tractor is on a slight hill.
