Do all the safety switches on the tractor lead to the fuel shutoff solenoid? So if I have a bad safety switch and I remove the fuel solenoid the engine should turn over and start, correct?

Does the engine turn over now?

Generally the fuel cut off solenoid keeps the engine from running, but does not affect the starter circuit...and the safety circuit that affects the starter does not affect the fuel cut off solenoid.

Don't have any specific idea about your tractor though...

I doubt it. Lets try a simpler question.

when you turn the key does the starter energize and crank the engine?

The original problem was the 5amp OPC fuse blowing. It's located under the steering wheel down by the left foot brake. After checking seat switch, HST pedal switch, unplugging the alternator, and removing the fuel solenoid and replacing it, the 5amp fuse has not blown anymore. But still the engine will not turn over. Battery has a green eye plus I tried jumping it off just in case, but nothing. The only safety switch that I cannot find is the PTO switch. That's why I posed the question about removing the fuel solenoid, AGAIN for the second time, to see if it would then start so as to isolate maybe a bad safety switch.

Well, you said "IF I remove the fuel cut off solenoid" NOT that you already did that. AND you did not say if the starter turned the engine over or not...

So from what you are saying now is that it sounds like the issue is with the safety circuit that energizes the starter solenoid.

Seems to be the normal issue in circumstances you are experiencing...

Plug the alternator back in.

Download the workshop manual - it details the location and operation of the starting interlocks.

Henro when I took the fuel solenoid off the first time it was still blowing the 5amp OPC when I tried to crank it. Now, for whatever reason, it isn't blowing the fuse anymore but engine won't turn over. So I thought about taking it off again to see if it would turn over and crank. But it's a hassle to take off so I figured I would ask the question.

If my problem is in the starter solenoid what are a couple of suggestions for me to try there?

On the B2650HSDC, it's called a key stop solenoid and it must be in place and extended for the engine to run. If you remove the key stop solenoid, the engine won't run because the fuel's been cut off.

The key stop solenoid has nothing to do with the starter and cranking the engine.

Yes Dustball but why are videos saying remove key stop fuel solenoid, cover the hole with tape to prevent fuel or oil from shooting out, crank the tractor then use the manual kill lever to stop the engine (all of this for test purposes only, not to operate the tractor continually)?

That is for models with a fuel shutoff solenoid, not a key stop solenoid. On our B2650s, no fuel will come out of that hole and there is no manual kill lever.

When the key stop solenoid is energized, it'll push a valve open to allow fuel to go through.

So you're saying the Key Stop Solenoid and Fuel Solenoid are two different things? Ok but my 2018 tractor has what looks like a spring loaded kill lever right beside the solenoid....I've never used it to kill the engine but it looks like all the other kill levers that I've seen online.

Leave the fuel stop alone, that is not causing it to not Crank.
And as @Dustball said it needs to be in place and working for it to run.

Blowing the OPC fuse means bad safety switch or bad OPC.
The OPC controls when it will crank and when it will run.

Replace OPC fuse.
Disconnect and reconnect and operate every safety switch, one at a time.
Also check all of the wiring at and around the switch.
Check the fuse between every switch and try and crank it.

Your most likely candidate are the PTO switches, there might be multiples.
and the HST switch.

The WSM will do a better job at troubleshooting that going off of misinformation that you've "heard".

That's right Dustball it has a plunger that goes in and out.

If I was with the tractor now I'd send a pic of the kill switch beside the solenoid but I'm not. I'll try later.

Alright @northidahowolfman I need to get a workshop manual. I need to find the PTO safety switch and check it. That's the only one I haven't checked. And I've gone thru 20 5amp fuses to this point. I appreciate and you guys input!

You’ve got good information from some smart folks. The pto clutch engagement lever is the one you want vice the mid/rear selector. The mid/rear selector switch along with the parking brake switch would prevent the tractor from running (engine stopped) the rear pto while the seat is unoccupied while using a rear pto chipper, generator, or pump for a splitter.
