I’ve owned my tractor for more than two years now, and for the entire time I have been wanting to carry my chainsaw and tool box on the tractor the whole time. I think I have finally found a solution to the problem. One of my requirements is to have it mounted to the tractor, and not to any of the implements that attach to the tractor. This way they will always be with me regardless which implements are on the tractor at any given time. The only place that I could find that meets this requirement is the subframe for the FEL on the drivers side. I’ve started fabricating the mounting system, and found that it is going to stick out further than I want, but see no alternatives at this time. Anyway, here is a picture of what I’ve done so far. Any suggestions are welcome. I plan on the toolbox on the bottom, with the chainsaw behind and above the toolbox.

Mount the toolbox (or the chainsaw holder) on the other side of the tractor. One on each side.....

I like chainsaw holders made of wood because they won't dull the teeth, they're economical, replaceable, and allow the bucking spikes to get a little grip.
Yes I will be enclosing the bar in wood. I already have a wood chainsaw holder on my atv, and it works well. I use a tee bolt to secure the bar as just leaving it without causes the teeth to wear the wood while riding on my rough trails. I plan to use something to secure the saw in the tractor model as well.

I have already considered putting one on each side, but it would be more difficult as my third function valve is mounted on that side and would require even more modifications to the hydraulic hoses feeding the valve.

Worked on my chainsaw mount again today. I’m hoping I’ve done the math right as I currently have my snowblower mounted, and without the FEL mounted, I’m best guessing the amount of clearance I need to clear everything. I want to be able to take the FEL off and on without having to remove the chainsaw mount. For now, I know it will work without the FEL, and will find out in the spring when I remove the blower.

Tomorrow, I will be sandblasting and priming the mount. I’m not sure if I have any 1/2 inch plywood to put some sides on the chainsaw part, but I’m sure I can come up with something to keep the bar and chain from coming into contact with the metal.

Here are a couple more pictures of my progress

Got it all painted, now just need to let I dry for a while, before installing it on my tractor. Got some cold snowy weather coming, so it my be a few days before I get to it, as I will be blowing snow soon if the weather forecast is right.

That’s a nice job and important to safely carry a chainsaw on a tractor.
The wood is okay but prefer the durability of steel. Sized to hold the plastic sleeve guard on the saw for chain protection on the tractor or moving to truck or shop.
Added T-bolts to clamp the saw bar in the holder but found them unnecessary.

Well after getting to blow snow for the past three days, I finally got around to mounting my chainsaw/toolbox holder. I put some sacrificial pieces of wood on the top edge as they will be chewed up by the chainsaw over time. I’m going to wait to install any type of clamp or bolt to hold the chainsaw in place. I’m not sure it will bounce the same as being on my atv, as I will be driving much slower thru the woods with the tractor. As I mentioned before I’m going to have to wait till spring when I put the FEL back on to see if I left enough clearance between the chainsaw and FEL.

Here are some pictures of the completed project.
