My dad does the same thing with the rear windows that fold out.

OP, I wonder if it***8217;d be covered under warranty. Seems like a silly failure if indeed nothing was done to it damage wise.
I contacted the dealer where I bought the tractor, and they said they would look into it, but that was a week ago. I've heard nothing since.

I have been closing the door quite sofly now, but I think I am going to do what PHPaul does and leave the rear glass unlatched in case I forget to close the door softly.

Cheers

I had a Honda Ridgeline for a couple years and went through 5 windshields. After owning trucks all my life and never losing a single window, I blamed it on the Honda.

Funny thing about the ridgeline, after a couple years owning it my wife said one night, "Lets go get you another truck. You have owned that thing for two years now and I have never one time heard you call it a truck, just the Honda. Every other truck you have ever owned, it has always been "lets take the truck", never have you said that about the Honda." An interesting view from someone beside me.

Good vehicle, but terrible mileage and NOT a truck - lol.

Having a window break in the B2650 with the factory cab was a concern when I purchased this machine. I will say, with the cab radio, and iPhone connected to it, has been a joy. I listen to classical music from London while plowing snow.

So my question, should I leave the rear window unlatched? It was not latched when it was delivered and yesterday I had to strong arm to latch it. I only have 7 hours on it.

My concern was the bouncing around, etc, would affect the rear window to the point where raising the rear blade would wind up hitting the window.

Sounds like I need to rethink this.

Thank you for posting this and for food for thought.

The only time I would worry about it is when there is a heavy frost on the windshield. If there is just crack a window or close the door easy until the tractor warms up but no need to leave it open after that. The morning mine blew out there was a very heavy frost on it and it was close to -15 C or -5 F at the time.

yeesh...I'd think defective glass or improper installation where glass was sitting in the frame. I can't buy the be gentle closing the door or leave windows open...when you think of the ZILLIONS of cars on the roads, how we scrape/bang,whack ice off windshields in the winter and NONE of them 'self destruct', you have to wonder WHY the tractor windshield fails ??
It's probably FLAT glass as well , no funky compound curves either.

Apples and oranges, laminated windshields in auto's and tempered windshields in tractors I believe and that is why a million shards of glass when they shatter.

hmm, didn't know that..now I'm wondering why not use laminated glass in tractors ?
Probably like everything else in the life, has to do with money, cheaper to put the tempered glass in and a tractor isn't reaching the speeds that make it necessary not to mention rocks from other vehicles. You'd be in a world of hurt if there was tempered glass in your car or truck.
