What is the actual PTO HP? Why is it claimed that 19.5 is the "advertised HP"? Seems to me a lot of equipment is sold with a minimum of 20 HP required for the PTO. As is I am probably pushing the envelope with the equipment I do have both in weight and HP required. I am looking into buying a 6" wood chipper. I probably won't chip anything over 5" as I will use in the woodburning stove but I do not want the opening restrictions of a 4" chipper.
Thanks, Dave

I'm running a Woodland Mills WC68 (6"x8" opening capacity) chipper behind my B2650 "19.5" PTO HP.

No problem. Just keep the infeed speed slower for bigger stuff. I've ben running the chipper for 4 years and pushed probably 10 cu yards of chips a year through it.

I concur, I have the exact same setup as yours and have only stalled the chipper once when I forgot to slow the infeed speed down on some 5” stuff. The B 2650 is up to the task.

I had the same question when I biought my WC68 chipper, my tractor's rated pto hp doesn't quite meeet the minumum spec'd for the chipper, but the Woodland Mills has a tractor hp checker and it gave my B2650 the thumbs up to rum the WC68 so I went for it. Positive feedback from actual users made a big difference, too.

B2601 / WC-68 owner-user here; I'm pretty sure my tractor has 19.5 PTO HP as well, and I've used my chipper numerous times w/o any issue at all. The chipper's weight is a full load for the 3-point hitch, about 700-800 lbs or so, which requires some attentive operating of the tractor to get it where you want to work with it, but the tractor handles the operating needs of the chipper fine. Chipper performance is excellent, it's a well built machine for sure. :)

Same as others have mentioned using a B with the WC-68…machine power is just fine….in addition to jkrubi12 comment on the weight…if you don’t have a loader on I am not sure their would be a good front counter balance solution…better to have a loader on especially if going up / down hills. It is challenging to manuever on a hilly property for sure.
