I wonder if a PTO slip clutch would help reduce some of the drive line shock when first starting up equipment on these models of tractors? I have a PTO driven wood chipper on order, and can't imagine spinning up a 100 lb flywheel instantly without something breaking.
Not if properly adjusted.

Other issues would almost certainly present more siginificant issues if slip clutch properly adjusted (which nearly NO ONE does).

On a wood chipper, the heavy flywheel imparts a huge amount of rotating inertia to the driveline and your pto when you idle down the tractor and the flywheel keeps on trucking so you depend on the PTO brake to slow it down and Kubota PTO brakes aren't the best in the first place. One application I'd be using an over running coupler on, not a slip clutch.

Thank you for the suggestion of using an overriding clutch. My chipper should be arriving in a few weeks, so I want to make sure I have one on hand!
