B2650 Oil change interval

Hello,

Wondering if this has come up before and if there's an established resolution. I have a 2019 B2650. The owner's manual says the OCI is every 200 hours, while the workshop manual says every 100 hours. Do we know what's correct?

Ho boy. This might go longer that the EA thread. Use good oil and either interval should help the tractor last longer than the owner. Oil is relatively cheap, so 100 hours probably isn’t going to cause any trouble. But 200 hours is fine too. I’d probably use an interval that results in an oil change at least every other year. Some will go with once a year.

Every year if used regularly, or 200 hours.

If not used much. 100 hours, but every year.

If it's parked for 2 or 5 or 10 years. Change the oil before start up.

It's up to you what oci hrs you want to use. I am going with the owners manual 200hr suggestion for my b2650.

Although its not a 100% apples to apple comparison, if you drove your truck at an average of 50 mph for 200 hours you would rack up 10K miles, and analogously 5K miles for a 100 hour road trip.

If you apply that logic , then 200 hours is probably ok in my opinion, but I know plenty of people that change their oil every 3-5K and would think 10K is insane.

Using Rotella and Wally World synthetic oil, my oil change interval for my truck and wifes Mini-van has been at 10K for the last 17 years (260K) and 7 years~ 160K (respectfully).........and so far, so good. (y)

I think the 200 hour mark is fine.

What type of oil do you use? ...synthetic or conventional oil? I was using conventional dino oil and changed it at 100 hours. When I switched to synthetic oil, I went with 150 hours. Not much use so that lasts a couple of years.

Thanks guys. I've been going with the 200-hour interval, but then saw the WSM stated 100 and I was more just interested in why they have the WSM conflicting with the owner's manual, as in is one or the other an error or is there a reason the WSM would call for twice the frequency of oil changes.

What ever trips your trigger, good oil ( M1) and good filters,, 100, if you are working in pretty dust dirty nasty conditions , if just normal use go 200. Like the man said oil is cheap in the over all scheme of things

Conflicting service intervals have been a thing for a long time.


I remember "back in the day" Mopar had an "A" a "B" and if I remember correctly, even a "C" schedule.

I don't remember all the particulars, but it went something like.....

The "A" schedule was for a regular customers....and the oil change was recommended at something like 3,000 miles

The "B" schedule was for "leased vehicles" .....and the oil change was recommended at 5,000 miles

The "C" schedule was for "Corporate Employee Leases" and 7,500 miles was the recommended/mandated interval.

I never found out why but I have a feeling it had something to do with "who is paying" for the oil changes...hahahaha....imagine that....

If it’s been parked for 2 or 5 or 10 years….. Prime the system (pre-lube) before start-up. There’s an excellent chance the pump has lost it’s prime and …unless it’s been pre-lubed….it could take a l o o o n n g time before oil pressure is seen again when it starts.
