Good morning,
I am a mechanic at a Kubota dealer in Connecticut. Typically I do mostly repair and service but i have been picking up some new builds and attachment installs. today im working on a B2601 tractor. its getting a 3rd function, backhoe and two rear remotes. the assembly instructions that come with each piece are specific individually to it. because of the backhoe it has different routing of the hydraulic hoses and some wiring and i am having some trouble finding information on the schematics on how it should go even on the dealer site. I was hoping someone would have some knowledge on this and be willing to lend a hand of help.

Thank you in advance!

@TheOldHokie is the man for hydraulic questions.
@whitetiger is a Kubota service person also as is @North Idaho Wolfman.

If they don’t reply today then you may want to contact them through the Private Message (PM) system on this site ( look for an envelope symbol in upper RH portion of the screen)

I do know that you want the Backhoe valve to be the last valve in the external valve series.

Thats an intersting one. Is the 3rd function a Land Pride kit? Thats the fly in the ointment.

The WSM has a hydraulic schematic diagram for the tractor. The OEM remotes are directly mounted on the rear outlet block using the custom connectors in the kit so thats a given.

The BH70 valve has pressure in, power beyond return, and tank return connections . Pressure in and power beyond return are normally connected in place of the power beyond pipe on the loader valve. The tank return line on the BH70 is also teed into the tank return port on the loader valve. That should be described in the BH70 instructions.

Which brings us to the anonymous 3rd function. TYPICALLY 3rd function valves are installed in place of the power beyond pipe on the loader valve. Since the backhoe is also installed there its decision time.

Without having specifics on the 3rd function my educated guess is the 3rd function gets installed between the loader valve and BH70 valve.

The P port on the 3rd function gets connected to the loader valve power beyond port using the hoses and fittings that came in the 3rd function kit just like in the instructions

Then, unlike the instructions say. the T port on the 3rd function goes to the rear outlet for the backhoe using a new custom hose of some sort. Thst may or nog be in the parts you have been given.

The backhoe power beyond and tank return couplers are still connected to the PB port on the transmission and teed into the loader valve tank return just like in the BH70 instructions using the pipes, fittings, and hardware that came in the BH70 kit.

EDIT

After a little more digging in the parts manuals I see there is a OEM third function kit for the LA434. It comes with different plumbing for use with the backhoe and appears to go after rather than before the BH70.

How does that matchup with what you are seeing?

Dan
