The L2501 would have been a better choice than the b2601 in my opinion if you want to "stay small". Both the weight and engine displacement are about 50% more and the price is possibly a little less. I have a B2601 and I suppose there is little it will not do. Its a matter how much time and wear and tear on both you and the tractor you wish to submit to. When I was tractor shopping earlier this year I picked up brochures at the dealership on several of the Kubotas I had been considering. They are great. I know car dealers don't even bother printing brochures anymore but I like them. I am considering an L2501 myself at the moment to replace an Allis Chalmers 5040. The Allis is about 40hp and has no loader. I, like you would like a loader and would also like to stay below the emissions equipment apparatus requirements. I maintain trails and cut wood while the "real farmer" does the rest. You might talk to the dealer about the L2501 and the economics of a swap. I see several low hour units with loaders available on Tractorhouse reasonably discounted to new. Good luck. Reporting from Pittsburgh " The Paris of Appalachia"I just sold a Ford 3600 40 hp tractor and my bx2350 thinking I only needed one tractor if I upgraded to a b2601 because I wanted the front end loader and wasnt too concerned about the mowing. Expensive mistake maybe?
