With only putting 150hrs on it in 2 years and if everything’s running and sounding good I’d just keep the cash in you pocket Just my 2 cents

You sure that the B2601 does not have an ECM? My LX2610 has an ECU. Same difference except in wording (module vs. unit). Frankly I wish you were correct.
Neither the B2601 nor the LX2610 have an ECU as they are mechanical injection engines.
They do however both have an OPC controller,a $250.00 part.

That ia pretty much my calculus.

Lets say a B2601 is a 20K machine.

if it breaks and you hsve to pay $5K to have it fixed your out of pocket expemse is $500 with warranty and $5K without.

If you dont have a warranty and cant handle a $5K repair bill the tractor is basically salvage and your casualty loss grows considerably.

THAT should be a Car Shield (for tractor) advertisement!

Just went blind trying to follow the drawings in my service manual but you are correct from what I can see. Thankfully it seems similar to the safety module that I just repaired in my JD 345 garden tractor. I was wanting to buy the LX3310 for the increase in pto HP but my dealer talked me out of it. Might be a blessing.

Every time I bought an extended warranty, I didn't need or use it.

I don't buy them anymore.

That being said, with todays modern cars and trucks, you can't fix a lot of the troubles in your driveway at home anymore. They are rolling computers. Leasing new vehicles makes more and more sense in this modern age.

In the past mileage was a deal killer for me but no more. My wife would dearly love getting a new car every 3 years....

And, like my wife, she'll love you for it.

Lease a BMW or Mercedes. We only live once. Give her that. Right?

They are awesome cars. But not so much if you buy them and have to fix them years down the road, (unless you have lots of money). So rent (lease) them. Momma is happy. What else matters?

We currently own his and hers BMWs and love them. They have actually been very reliable and trouble free.

A new Mercedes surprise would probably buy me a week of goodwill

I bought the extended warranty on my L2501, the extra 2 years on the powertrain warranty was the thing I liked. Tractor can be almost 8 years old and still be covered.

30 years ago…. new wife came with a Honda Accord and an extended warranty.

’couple years later a squealing sound came from beneath the hood…… distributor bearing failing….

Auto-Zone would sell a complete replacement distributor for $70… Easy install….

Wife remarked she had bought the extended warranty when she bought the car….paid $300 for it….
…Called the Honda dealer…. Replacement with genuine Honda distributor and labor was $520.

It got a genuine Honda replacement.

(If anyone needs that part….. the car is sitting in a salvage yard with an almost new distributor AND a new Thousand-Dollar-AC-compressor which was Not Covered under that warranty. Daughter wrecked that car the following week.)

Save your money.
